Overage charge
Definition
The per-ton fee for weight above the tonnage included in your rental. The most common reason a final invoice does not match the quote.
What else to know about overage charge
A 20 yard container quoted at $350 with 2 tons included, filled with 4 tons of tile and plaster at $75 per extra ton, invoices at $500. Nothing went wrong; the quote was simply not for the load.
